A chip and a beer – La Chouffe

What’s better then a beer, a deck of cards and good company? The six of us play poker for fun, and fun only. None of that bullcrap about analysing our plays or trying to make the most +EV decisions. That’s for nerds. We just like to get drunk and try to own each other with crazy bluffs and river suck outs. Poker as it should be.

Last night we got together again, and I saw the best play ever. I couldn’t stop laughing after this hand came to a showdown:

We were 0,10/0,10c blinds. The youngest of the crew, Ginger Boy, raised. He’s know for his VERY loose plays.  So, 4 of us called, with all kinds of crap, obviously. The flop came down AT2. Ginger boy bet out, 3$, while the pot was only 1,5$. Everybody folded, except for Fatty. Fatty always tries to make hero-calls, just like in this hand. Turn is 6. Ginger bets out 5, Fatty insta-calls. River is another T. Ginger goes all-in for 20$. Fatty goes in the tank for 5 minutes, calls and flips open his KJ high. I lolled. Ginger stands up, acts like he’s upset. Says: “Sure, you can see my hand.” I flip his hand open: AA. The table bursts out in laughter. We love slowrolls!

While this pure piece of poetry was going down I was enjoying a great beer called La Chouffe. A Belgian blond beer with a nice taste, a nice strong but not too strong alcohol percentage (8%), and a cool ticket of a dwarf with a red nose on the bottle.
